Sometimes you just get to the point where enough is enough, and you KNOW you have to do something healthy for yourself or suffer the consequences. I think as women we all get those feelings at times, often we do so much for others that we ignore our own health and spiritual growth. I always subscribed to the saying that if "Mom isn't happy, no one is happy", but maybe I didn't give myself enough time to just really be myself and have some fun! As I contemplate that next March I will be 60, I am claiming that it is my turn, that I do have a passionate purpose in life, and that it might not include loading the dishwasher and scrubbing the toilet. Not that I don't want to do those things, but i want MORE also! Starting a whole new "career" 4 years ago as a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader was a good start, and I will continue to grow and expand.
Affirmations are wonderful vehicles for reshaping your thoughts and beliefs. I now officially declare that I do have a lot to give back to this world in service and that I deserve to let my light shine brightly. Science says it takes 30 days of repetition to make a strong neural pathway and new habit, so I am repeating the following as many times as I can daily for the next month:
"I easily release all that does not serve me, and I am Free!"
By the way, I just booked a spa weekend for myself this Friday and Saturday so I can spend some quiet time in meditation, reflection, and prayer. What can you do for yourself soon? Whatever it is, just DO IT!
Yours in Laughter and Health,
